Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop

Next spring, we will be presenting a Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop in Homer.

The Awareness workshop will be a formal Leave No Trace training course that will be completed in one day.  This presentation will be set in an outdoor setting in Homer.
This workshop will be designed for outdoor enthusiasts, parents, children, students,
Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and others interested in learning Leave No Trace skills and ethics so one can practice these skills while visiting camps, parks, wilderness and country areas.

Participants will receive introductory training in the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace.  Workshop topics include the underlying ethics and seven principles of Leave No Trace:

* Plan Ahead and Prepare
* Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
* Leave What You Find
* Respect Wildlife
* Minimize Campfire Impacts
* Be Considerate of Other Visitors
* Dispose of Waste Properly
