Payment & Refund Policy
If you are unsure of which trip you should take, the dates available or require additional information on the optional arrival/departure packages, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to discuss what your interests are and we will offer suggestions for the best Trips based on your time available in your area of interest. To contact us you may fill out our online Booking Information Request Form which is very easy to do and we will respond to you within 24 hours in most cases or you may use the contact information below.

You will find communication with our knowledgeable staff enjoyable and helpful. Some of our trips are very specialized such as the Coastal Treks. In these instances we would also like you to talk with the guides leading the trips.
Once you have chosen the trip which is of interest and considered the dates you have available, we will then place your booking on our calendar subject to our payment policy. Also, once you book your tour with us, we make the round trip Homer/Hallo Bay bush plane reservations for you.
Our standard Trip payment policy requires a 50% deposit paid within 14 days of booking to confirm your dates and services. Trip balance is due the morning of your flight and can be paid by travelers checks, credit card or cash prior to trip departure. If paid by personal check, it must be received by our office 30 days prior to the trip date.
Payment may be made by personal check, money order, wire or travelers checks made payable in only U.S. Funds to the order of Hallo Bay Wilderness. Payment can be sent by mail to:

The prices listed for the overnight trips are the cash prices. If a guest wishes to pay by credit card, the trip and air cost price increases by 3%.
Hallo Bay Wilderness assumes a large part of the risk in the event a trip is canceled or delayed due to bad weather as you will see in the terms listed below. We strongly suggest that you obtain Trip Insurance to cover any delays or cancellation liabilities on your part. We will confirm receipt of your payment by email and/or telephone. In the event payment is not received within 14 days of the booking date, we will make a courtesy telephone call to you provided that you have supplied us your telephone number. If it is determined that payment was lost or delayed in the mail, you will be given the opportunity to Overnight Express Mail or Wire the funds to maintain your reservations. If we are unable to reach you by the phone number provided, your booked dates will be released. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have regarding our policies.
Client Caused Cancellations, Weather Cancellations or Delays & Refunds
Weather Delay or Cancellation Prior to Arrival at Hallo Bay Wilderness.
There shall be NO REFUND for weather delay or cancellation because of weather or volcanic activity prior to arrival at the camp for overnight guests.
Hallo Bay will make every reasonable attempt to replace weather lost days within the same calendar year of the original trip if space is available.
Hallo Bay Wilderness is not responsible for any additional costs that may be incurred by delays or cancellations due to weather or volcanic activity.
There will be no trip credit or refunds for lost or weather cancelled trip days.
We will refund a weather cancelled Day Trip if the guest cannot go the following day(s).
Weather Caused Delay Departing Hallo Bay Wilderness
On the day that a guest is scheduled to fly back to Homer, if weather or volcanic activity delays a guest’s departure from the camp, there shall be a $150.00 per person CHARGE to guests that get weathered into the camp.
Hallo Bay takes the responsibility to cover lodging, meals, guides and activities at Hallo Bay Wilderness while the guest is weathered into camp. Every reasonable effort will be made to conduct normal camp activities through the period of weather delay. Hallo Bay Wilderness will not be responsible for any additional costs to clients that may be incurred as a result of a weather delay.
Trip Cancellation For Any Reason Prior To Trip Date including Weather Cancellations or Delays
NO REFUND will be allowed on cancellations prior to the trip date for any reason once the trip is booked.
Please consider obtaining Trip or Travel Insurance to cover eventualities which may cause travel difficulties or losses you may incur, of which Hallo Bay Wilderness is not responsible. We strongly suggest Trip or Travel Insurance to all our guests to cover any unseen situations occurring prior to or during the trip which would cause losses not covered by our policy.
This payment and booking policy is written in simple terms. If you do not understand any part of it please inquire of us to be more specific and we will be happy to explain any part you may not understand. If you do not ask, we assume you understand our policy as we intended it.
Early Return to Homer From Camp For Any Reason Prior To Trip Ending Date
NO REFUND will be allowed on guests returning back to Homer early prior to their scheduled trip ending date for any reason due to illness, injury or potential weather fronts heading towards camp.
We make it a point to inform all of our guests of any potentially bad weather systems that are heading towards the camp area to give the client a chance to make an informed decision on whether to stay and finish their trip or to depart early to avoid being weathered into the camp for an unknown amount of days.

By purchasing services from Alaska’s Hallo Bay Wilderness Camps you are agreeing to the terms and conditions which we have set in place governing our operations. If you are not comfortable with these terms we respectfully ask that you do not book with us as these are our company policies set in place for your safety, the safety of other guests, staff and our deep concern for protecting this magnificent wilderness area and the wildlife within it from those who may not realize how very fragile it is and how easily it can be overrun. Our watch is one of concern for all living things and their environment.
